About Monopoly
Monopoly is the world's most famous board game, first published by Parker Brothers in 1935. Based on Elizabeth Magie's earlier game "The Landlord's Game," Monopoly has become a cultural phenomenon played by over a billion people worldwide.
The game simulates real estate transactions where players buy, trade, and develop properties. The goal is to accumulate wealth while bankrupting opponents through rent collection. The game teaches valuable lessons about money management, negotiation, and strategic planning.
This browser version offers a streamlined single-player experience against an AI opponent. All the classic elements are here: buying properties, building houses, collecting rent, and the drama of landing on someone's fully-developed Boardwalk!
How to Play Monopoly

Collect Rent
When opponents land on your property, they pay you rent based on houses built.
Bankrupt Your Opponent
The game ends when one player runs out of money. Be the last one standing!
Monopoly Tips & Strategies
- 1.Buy strategically: Focus on color groups. Owning all properties of a color lets you build houses.
- 2.Railroads are valuable: The more railroads you own, the higher the rent. All four can net $200 per landing.
- 3.Build houses quickly: Rent increases dramatically with houses. 3-4 houses is the sweet spot.
- 4.Keep cash reserves: Don't spend all your money on properties. You need cash for rent and taxes.
- 5.Location matters: Orange and red properties are landed on most often due to Jail proximity.
