About Bridge

Contract Bridge is one of the world's most popular card games, known for its depth, strategy, and the partnership element. This simplified version lets you experience the core mechanics of bidding and trick-taking against AI opponents.

In Bridge, four players in two partnerships compete. The bidding phase determines the "contract" - how many tricks the declaring side promises to win and which suit (if any) will be trumps. Then the play phase begins, with one partner's hand (the "dummy") played face-up.

This browser-based version is perfect for learning the basics of Bridge or practicing your card-playing skills without needing four people.

How to Play Bridge

1

Evaluate Your Hand

Count high card points: A=4, K=3, Q=2, J=1. With 12+ points, consider opening the bidding.

2

Bid or Pass

Bid shows tricks above 6 you can win. "2 Hearts" = 8 tricks with hearts as trumps.

3

Play Cards

Follow the led suit if possible. Trumps beat other suits. Highest card wins the trick.

4

Make Your Contract

Win at least as many tricks as you bid (plus 6) to score points!

Bridge Tips & Strategies

  • Count your high card points before bidding - 12+ points is typically an opening hand
  • Lead from your longest suit when on defense
  • Draw trumps early when you're the declarer to prevent ruffs
  • Keep track of which cards have been played
  • No Trumps contracts score higher but require balanced hands

This is a simplified Contract Bridge variant designed for single players against AI. It focuses on the trick-taking and bidding fundamentals of Bridge.
Players bid on how many tricks they think they can win (above 6). The highest bidder's suit becomes trumps. If you bid '2 Hearts', you're saying you can win 8 tricks with hearts as trumps.
Absolutely! Bridge is fully optimized for mobile devices, tablets, and desktop computers with responsive design.
The trump suit beats all other suits. If spades are trumps, even a 2 of spades beats an Ace of hearts. No Trumps (NT) means no suit has this power.
Win by making your contract (winning as many tricks as you bid) or setting the opponents' contract. Score points for tricks won and bonuses for contracts made.
In Bridge, the declarer's partner (dummy) lays their cards face-up on the table. The declarer plays both hands. In this version, you control your partner's cards.
